Localizing the Wishlist Module - Translating the strings

Created by Sunny Leo, Modified on Thu, 22 Jun, 2023 at 6:47 PM by Sunny Leo

The Wishlist Plus app supports the ability to localize the wishlist module into the language of your choice by updating the app strings with appropriate translations for that language. This feature is supported on all our paid plans (Starter or above) and requires a few manual steps to be completed. We have predefined translations for French, Spanish, English, German, Italian, and Japanese. If you need a different language we’ll send you a Google Sheet with predefined strings that you can manually translate and send back to us.

How to Enable

Log in to Swym Admin > Wishlist Plus tab > Native Language Support >  Configure tab. A support request will be generated and our team will get in touch with you at your registered email address. You can also reach out to us at support@swymcorp.com.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can we translate the application on a Free plan?

Translating the app to a non-English language requires a significant amount of our development time as it requires altering the code for your store. As a result, we only offer this on our paid plans. If you require the app to be translated, please consider upgrading to one of our paid plans and we’ll be happy to help incorporate the changes for you.

Can we change existing predefined strings for German, Spanish, Italian, Japanese, and French to reflect on our store?

Yes, it is possible. You can contact support@swymcorp.com, and our team will share the predefined strings. We will update the requested changes for your store.

Is it possible to add new strings to the wishlist UI?

It is not possible to add strings to our default wishlist UI.  You can build a custom wishlist page or modal if you wish to add additional strings.
